ABOUT COACH DAN PEREZ

Coach Dan Perez graduated from Marist in 1984 where he played football, basketball and baseball for the War Eagles.  As a quarterback on the football team, he led them to the 1983 State AAA Football finals.

After attending Georgia Tech, he returned to Marist School.  This is his 28th year as a teacher and coach.
Dan has coached Varsity Football for 26 seasons and was named the Assistant Varsity Head Coach in 2005.  He was a member of the 1989 Football coaching staff that was named 'Assistant Coaches-of-the-Year' for DeKalb County and Georgia for guiding the War Eagles to the AAA State Championship.

Coach Perez is a recipient of the Frank Hagan Award at Marist in 2001, selected as the Most Outstanding Marist Coach.

On the baseball diamond, Coach Perez has been a vital part of 7 State Baseball Championships, 5 State Runner-Up finishes and 2 Semi-Final teams at Marist.
He was an Assistant Coach on the 1993 AAA State Baseball Championship team and the 1994 AAA State Runner-Up team.

As a Head Coach, the War Eagles won back-to-back AAAA State Baseball Championships in 2002 and 2003.  With those Championships, Marist became the 1st high school in the state of Georgia to win 10 State Baseball Championships.

Coach Perez was selected the Georgia High School Baseball Coach-of-the-Year in 1996 and 2002 and was honored by the Georgia Dugout Club and the Atlanta Braves 400 Club as their Coach-of-the-Year also in 2002.

Dan and his wife Susan have 2 daughters, Ashleigh and Peyton.

About Summer Camp Staff

Coach Dan Perez will be assisted by members of the Marist War Eagle coaching staff and many former players who are currently playing college or minor league baseball as well as current high school players from the area.

Coach Perez strives to insure that the staff consists of young men and women who are dedicated, motivated and highly skilled players that have a true love for the game of baseball.
